There are several courses offered at the University of Ghana Legon. These courses have been grouped into colleges each with several schools and departments, and their cut off points.
The university adopted the collegiate system, which started in the 2014/2015 academic year and thus categorized all schools and departments under four colleges.

1. College of health sciences
If you are considering a career in the health sciences, there are plenty of choices. The health science encompasses a broad range of occupations and specializations.
Health science refers to a large group of disciplines related to the delivery of health care to humans and animals through the application of science, engineering, mathematics, and technology.
In other words, it is the field in which knowledge is taken from pure science and other related sources and applied to practical and clinical practices to maintain and improve the health of living beings.

Basic science is the study that relates to the basic discovery, inventions in the field of science. It is the knowledge of knowing about facts. All disciplines of science (includes physical and chemical science) have both basic and applied sciences.
Applied science is an application of acquired knowledge. It takes up the knowledge that has been acquired or learned from basic science and also solves or finds a solution for the existing problems.
In short, it is the utilization of basic science.
