The University of Education Winneba (UEW), founded in 1992 is a University in Winneba, Central Region of Ghana with an aim to train teachers for the education system of Ghana.
With a student population of over 30,000, the University of Education, Winneba has been consistent with its mission to train competent professional teachers for all levels of education as well as conduct research, disseminate knowledge and contribute to educational policy and development in Ghana and beyond.
The multi-campus university has twenty-nine academic departments and centres, seven faculties. It also has 18 distance education regional study centres throughout Ghana.
The Winneba Campus is the main campus of the University of Education, Winneba. It has three sub-campuses: the North, Central and South Campuses.The central Administration is currently located at the North Campus.
In addition to three campuses in Winneba where its administrative office is located, the University has three extra campuses in addition to over 20 study centres:
- The College of Technology Education – Kumasi Campus.
- The College of Agriculture Education – Mampong Campus.
- The College of Languages Education – Ajumako Campus.
The three sites in Winneba now referred to as the Winneba campus is the seat of the Vice-Chancellor with satellite campuses at Kumasi, Mampong and Ajumako.
UEW Kumasi campus
The Kumasi campus branch of uew operated initially as a department of Kumasi Polytechnic.
It became one of the seven Diploma Awarding Colleges when it was affiliated to the Institute of Education of the University of Cape Coast in 1977. This was as a result of the restructuring of Ghana Teacher Education programmes.
Following the educational reforms in 1992, the College became part of the University College of Education of Winneba (UCEW) in 1996.

Integrated in 1996 as one of the constituent colleges of the then University College of Education of Winneba (UCEW), the College is the only tertiary institution mandated to train technical and vocational teachers for the Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.
The College runs academic programmes leading to the award of diploma, degrees, masters, and doctoral degrees. COLTEK offers major programmes in business, technology and educational studies.
Ajumako Campus host the College of Languages Education. It currently has two faculty, the Faculty of Languages Education and Faculty of Foreign Languages Education and Communication.
The Mampong Campus of the University of Education, Winneba host the College of Agriculture Education. It is located 51 kilometres to the north-east of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

University of education Winneba programms
University of Education, Winneba (UEW) offers over 147 courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
These programms run under regular/full time, distance, sandwich, evening programms and part-time. These courses are ran on any of their campuses.
